HOW TO CARE FOR SEA GLASS?

Frost Of Sea Glass - the telltale sign of natural sea glass is the lovely "frost". Touching your jewellery and body oils can deposit in the pores of the sea glass. If you want to bring back the "frost" to your sea glass, you can clean it with water or wipe with a lint free cloth dampened with rubbing alcohol.

Colour - To intensify the colour of darker sea glass like blues etc, try rubbing a small drop of baby or mineral oil into the surface. This will "pop" the colour as if the glass were still wet. This will go away after time. If you like you can use a aroma therapy oil like lavender or such for a long lasting fragrance.

HOW TO CARE FOR STERLING SILVER?

Dry silver is happy silver! If you need to clean your silver, immerse the sterling silver in water and gently hand wash. Use a cotton swab for tight corners. A soft baby toothbrush can be used for more abrasive cleaning when needed. Thoroughly rinse and completely dry the sterling silver before storing, as moisture is one of the factors that contribute to tarnishing!

HOW DO I KNOW MY RING SIZE?

Ideally fingers should be sized properly by a profesional jeweller using a ring sizer.  If this is not possible then the following may be used to estimate your size.

Follow these directions to measure your finger. They will give an approximate guide to establish your ring size. For a completely accurate measurement go to a jeweller and have your finger sized precisely.

  1. Find a piece of string or strip of paper no wider than 1.4 cm (1/2 inch).

  2. Wrap it around the base of the appropriate finger.

  3. Use a pen to mark the point on the string/paper where it overlaps, forming a complete circle.

  4. With a ruler, measure the length from the starting end of the string/paper to the pen mark.

  5. Use a ring size conversion chart (easily found on google) or contact us direct with this measurement to find out your size.

For the most accurate reading using this estimated method, measure the finger at the end of the day when the finger is likely to be at it's largest. But please bear in mind we can not be held responsible for any readings taken this way.

Here are some tips to make your ring size measurement more accurate:

  • After sliding the ring sizer on, make sure it slides off fairly easily over the knuckle.

  • Don't measure cold fingers. This is when fingers are their smallest

  • For the most accurate reading, measure the finger at the end of the day when the finger is the largest
